Shannon M. Wade, 61, of Red Creek, was arrested for endangering the welfare of a disabled man under her care.
The man was found hitchhiking 15 miles from home after going missing.
Authorities say Wade found him partway through his journey, called 911, but then left him on the roadside.
She was taken to the Wayne County Jail for arraignment.
