Whoopi Goldberg Snaps at Meghan McCain on ‘The View’

A discussion on ‘The View’ that turned into a tension filled argument sent Twitter into an outrage. It all started when Meghan McCain was complaining about Biden’s response to CNN’s Kaitlan Collins, who used to work for the conservative outlet The Daily Caller. Collins grilled President Biden on his interaction with Russian President Vladamir Putin. President Joe Biden apologized for the incident just moments after it happened, but the apology was not good enough for McCain.
She stated; “ Part of my problem with the Kaitlan Collins moment is that just because Trump was so bad it doesn’t absolve Biden’s bad behavior. What he just did was 100% Trumpy. I think I would just like a little intellectual consistency. If Trump had done that, we would be screaming at the top of our lungs in one way or another. Just because Biden has gotten a pass so far, which he has and continues to do, it’s in no one’s best interest to treat him like it’s state TV.”
Whoopi Goldberg disagreed with Meghan McCain and pointed out that Biden did apologize — unlike Trump who constantly attacked the press. McCain responded that “With all due respect I don’t care if he’s apologizing.” This ended with the pair going back and forth, where eventually they apologized to one another. However, people took to Twitter to defend Whoopi Goldberg:
Black women are expected to work w people like Meghan McCain all the time. Unqualified, mediocre white women who only got the job because of privilege. That's why Whoopi apologized, for ever letting Meghan think she was important enough to get her outta character. #TheView pic.twitter.com/tmm29de6eN
