Where Will NY DOT Deploy Work Zone Speed Cameras Across Rochester Area
Written by Site Hub on June 21, 2025
New York’s Department of Transportation has activated Automated Work Zone Speed Monitoring units in several Rochester-area locations this summer, including Route 104, I-490 eastbound near the Frederick Douglass–Susan B. Anthony Bridge, and I-390 southbound near Marshall Road. These mobile units are part of the state’s five-year Automated Work Zone Speed Enforcement Program. While the goal is safer roads—not catching speeders—over 44,000 citations were issued in Monroe County alone in 2024. The cameras’ placement changes daily, and they are expected to remain active through the week.
