They say all it takes is a dollar and a dream.
Well in this story that dream became a nightmare because a Western New York man was arrested for possession of a stolen lottery ticket that he legally purchased from a gas station.
Back in July Eric Martin had won $50 from a scratch-off lottery ticket and walked into a Speedway gas station in to collect his winnings.
Mr Martin was informed by the gas station manager that his winning scratch off ticket was a stolen ticket.
According to reports earlier that week the store was robbed.
Mr Martin told police and the manager at the store he purchased the ticket from the gas station the police wasn’t trying to hear it and took him away in handcuffs.
Here’s the kicker in the story the gas station realized there was a mistake made and had all the charges dropped against Eric Martin.
The charges may be dropped but the embarrassment is still there.
Eric Martin attorneys gave no word if any lawsuits will be filed against the Speedway gas station.
