Wegmans Takes Number 1 On PEOPLE’s ‘Companies That Care’ List

In the annual ‘Companies That Care’ list from PEOPLE magazine, Wegmans takes the number one spot on the slideshow. The list highlights organizations that show care, respect, and concern for workers and their communities. Wegmans not only took the top spot, but 2021 marks the fifth year it has appeared on the rankings. PEOPLE cited Wegmans’ record of giving back to its community; from donating to food banks to providing free rides for seniors.
Wegmans President and CEO Colleen Wegman stated: “There is nothing more important to us for our people feeling cared for. So, this award means the world tour family and our company. Our philosophy has always been to take care of our people so they can take care of our customers. It has been incredibly inspiring to watch our people show up every day with a smile, ready to serve our customers while most of the world was asked to stay home.
