Wegmans ranked nationally as the second best supermarket

Wegmans, a Rochester-based supermarket chain, was ranked as the second-best supermarket in the United States according to Newsweek’s 2024 rankings. The rankings were based on an independent survey of over 7,000 U.S. customers who had made purchases or used services in the past three years. Great Wall Supermarket claimed the top spot with a score of 92.69, while Wegmans followed closely with a score of 90.89. Other supermarkets in the top ten include Publix, The Fresh Market, Sprouts, Natural Grocers, Whole Foods Market, Seafood City, Albertsons, and Kroger.

Wegmans, established in 1916, has over 100 locations across eight states, including New York, Pennsylvania, Maryland, New Jersey, Virginia, Delaware, Massachusetts, and North Carolina. The chain was also featured in USA Today’s 2023 list of “10 best grocery stores in the US that you need to check out.”
