Wearing a Mask While Committing a Crime Could Soon Be Illegal in NY

New York plans to make it a crime to wear a mask while committing or fleeing from a serious crime. The rule will be part of the new state budget.

Governor Kathy Hochul says it’s meant to stop people from hiding their identity during crimes. The law will allow exceptions for health, cultural, or religious reasons.
