There is no way that anyone went through the year 2021 without hearing the word ‘vax’ at least once. Last year was the world of the pandemic, but this year it is all about the vaccines. So much so, that Oxford made the word, ‘vax,’ as its 2021 word of the year. In a statement, the creators of the famous Oxford English Dictionary said: “A relatively rare word in our corpus until this year, by September it was over 72 times more frequent than at the same time last year.”
According to Oxford, ‘vax’ can be either a noun or a verb, and it’s created several different uses, including “vax sites,” “vax cards” and “being fully vaxxed.”
