Uptick In Crime Causes Starbucks To Close 16 Stores Due To Safety Of Employess

Written by on July 14, 2022

We are living in an interesting time in United States history because of, well many reasons but one is safety. When going out in public or working in customer service where you have to face people safety is a concern.

With the uptick in mass shootings, violence, and drug use people and businesses are taking extra precautions to protect themselves. Some companies are shutting down stores across the country because they can’t keep their employees safe.

Starbucks announced they will be closing 16 stores due to the increase of drug use by the public in their stores. The stores are in Seattle, Portland, Los Angeles, Washington, D.C., and Philadelphia.

Starbucks will also reduce operations, limit seating, and bathroom use in stores that remain open to protect employees.

Walgreens has closed stores as well due to the surge in crime.

At this point we as a society have to take a sep back and ask ourselves where do we go from here? I say this because this increase in violence, drugs, mass shootings is not normal. Granted normal has changed for many since the pandemic but the lack of compassion and not valuing life is quite incredible.

Life is precious you only get one there no reset or do over from the life you are given here on earth. Looking at the other side of things the amount of individuals especially young people who take a life will have to deal with that. Prison is not a place to live for the next 20 years or for the rest of your life.

Is it worth it? Is losing your freedom worth taking that persons life you decided to take?

We have a lot to unpack now and in the years to come. Hope you are ready.
