South Carolina Police End Investigation Into Hayden Panettiere’s Death
Greenville, South Carolina, police announced the closure of their investigation on Wednesday in a statement, per the Associated Press. Their decision is based on the coroner’s findings in the death and their findings in the investigation. No foul play is suspected. At this time, it’s unclear whether federal authorities, including the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration, will continue pursuing an investigation.
What To Know Of Hayden’s Death
As said, Hayden Panettiere’s death was reportedly caused by a toxic combination of drugs, including fentanyl, 4-ANPP, Alprazolam, methocarbamol, and Quetiapine. The actress was found unresponsive on August 16 in South Carolina’s Judson Mill Lofts. A 911 call later revealed that there was an attempt to perform CPR on the actress. She also may have gone into cardiac arrest prior to her death. At the scene, Hayden’s then-boyfriend, Brian Hickerson, turned over a bag of her alleged medications. He and his brother were in the home when Hayden died.
Weeks before her death, Panettiere reportedly spent time in rehab. Also, Hayden was supposed to visit her father in the Ukraine, but died days before making the trip.
Actress’ Ex Granted Legal Authority To Protect Her Property
Hayden Panettiere’s ex-fiancé, Wladimir Klitschko, petitioned last month to protect his and her daughter’s inheritance. During the investigation, some of the actress’ property was seized by federal agents and a mystery relative hoping to sell it. Earlier this month, Klitschko got the green light from a judge to protect the property for the 11-year-old child, Hayden’s only heir.
