A celebration honoring the remarkable archival legacy of Mayor William A. Johnson will be on Tuesday, April 23rd, 5:00pm at Rush Rhees Library, Hawkins-Carlson 755 Library Road Rochester NY 14627. The Free Event commemorating the first Black mayor of Rochester, Mayor William A. Johnson’s enduring contributions have left an indelible mark on our community. It is with great honor that the University of Rochester Libraries’ Department of Rare Books, Special Collections, and Preservation serves as the stewards of his archive. William A. Johnson stands as a distinguished figure celebrated for his extensive career encompassing public service, academia, and community leadership.
