A man’s body was recovered from Ontario Lake in Charlotte this morning. The Rochester Police SCUBA team, Rochester firefighters, the U.S. Coast Guard and U.S. Border Patrol arrived at the scene at Ontario Beach Park around 9:20 am and removed the body within an hour.
The body, which has not yet been positively identified by the Monroe County Office of the Medical Examiner, was found floating in the water about 500 feet down the peer by a passerby.
SCUBA teams believe the body had been there for several days to a week. At this time there is an ongoing investigation into the man’s death, but Rochester police do not suspect foul play nor do they believe there is any danger to the community.
