Uber Tests Gender-Matching Rides for Women in Safety Push

Uber is piloting a “Women’s Preferences” feature in LA, San Francisco, and Detroit, letting women riders and drivers choose same-gender matches.

Aimed at boosting safety and comfort, the feature builds on similar efforts in 40+ countries. Women must verify their gender to use it.
