Heads up!

The Governor’s Traffic Safety Committee  announced on Tuesday state and local law enforcement are participating in the “U Drive, U Text, U Pay” national campaign.

The reason for the campaign is to raise awareness about the dangers of distracted driving.

April is national Distracted Driving Awareness month.

So, if you have a young person that drives this is a reminder to remind them not text and drive. Law enforcement statewide is ramping up patrols starting April 3, 2023 through Monday, April 10th, 2023.

The penalties range from fines of  $50 up to $450, five driver violations points, and suspension or revocation of license.
