Two Delta Jets Collide on Taxiway at LaGuardia

Written by on October 2, 2025

Two Delta Connection CRJ-900 jets clipped wings on a taxiway at New York’s LaGuardia Airport, injuring a flight attendant and damaging both planes. One aircraft was preparing for takeoff to Roanoke when it struck an arriving plane from Charlotte. The FAA said the Virginia-bound plane had been told to yield before the collision. The NTSB dispatched investigators and recovered flight recorders. Photos showed a shattered cockpit window and a broken wing. No passengers were hurt, and all were rebooked on later flights. Safety experts said low-visibility taxi conditions at night may have contributed, stressing pilots’ responsibility to maintain situational awareness.
