Trump promises equal opportunities for Black Supporters

While speaking at an event in the White House on Thursday, President Donald Trump mentioned how he’s helping black people. Trump met some black supporters in the event of the commemoration of black history month.

He quoted low rates of unemployment for African Americans and the passing of a criminal justice bill that allows thousands of federal drug offenders to be released from prison as some of his involvement in supporting the black community.

In his statement, Trump said that he would not stop nor give up until everybody in the community gets what he termed as equal and abundant opportunity. Black Trump supporters complained of unfair attacks towards President Trump and claimed that he deserves credit for the work he has done. For example, Bruce Levell of Georgia warned that anybody who attacks Trump attacks the entire community.

The presidential election in the United States will be held in November 2020. The twenty-second constitutional amendment allows the reelection of President Donald Trump for a second term.

A study done by the pew research center confirmed that that Trump won only 6% votes from the black people in the 2016 election. However, Trump’s reelection team has increased its campaign to garner support for him by reaching out to the black community, which is a dominant home for the Democratic Party.
