Tropical Storm Nicholas Threatens the Gulf Coast

Last night, Tropical Storm Nicholas was headed toward the Texas coast threatening to bring heavy rain and floods to coastal areas of Texas, Mexico, and Louisiana. A hurricane watch was issued for the central portion of the Texas coast with much of the state’s coastline now under a tropical storm warning, according to the National Hurricane Center.

Texas Governor Greg Abbott stated: “We will continue to closely monitor this storm and take all necessary precautions to keep Texans safe. I encourage Texans to follow the guidance and warnings of their local officials and be mindful of potential heavy rain and flooding.”
