Transparency at the Polls: Monroe County Prepares for Primary Election 2026

Dear Monroe County Media Outlets,
The news you provide informs voters and helps ensure transparency and accountability in the electoral process. We recognize your hard work, dedication, and professionalism, and we thank for your invaluable contributions to our democracy.
Please be reminded about the law and Board of Elections policies that govern media activities at polling locations. We ask for your cooperation to ensure election integrity and the privacy of all voters. Please review the information below and in the Media Poll Site Policy attached. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to reach out.
YOU MUST obtain prior approval before going to film at any of these locations.Please reach out to us via email or phone to obtain approval. Remember only once the site is open to the public will you be allowed inside. In addition, once the polls have closed, no one new will be allowed in.
The approved Early Voting sites for the media to film in from June 13th – 21st are:
- Monroe County Office Building – 39 W. Main St, Rochester, NY 14612
- Brighton Famer’s Market – 1435 Westfall Rd, Rochester, NY 14618
- Gates Presbyterian Church – 1049 Wegman Rd, Rochester, NY 14624
The approved Election Days sites for the media to film in on Election Day, Tuesday, June 23rd are:
- East High School 1801 E Main St, Rochester, NY 14609
- Brighton Famer’s Market – 1435 Westfall Rd, Rochester, NY 14618
- Gates Presbyterian Church – 1049 Wegman Rd, Rochester, NY 14624
