Tragic Loss: 11-Year-Old Texas Girl Dies by Suicide After Immigration-Related Bullying

An 11-year-old girl, Jocelynn Rojo Carranza, from Gainesville, Texas, tragically took her own life after being bullied about her family’s immigration status.

Her mother found her unresponsive at home on February 3, and despite being airlifted to a children’s hospital, she died from her injuries on February 8.

The Gainesville Police Department reported receiving calls about an attempted suicide, and life-saving measures were initiated by first responders.
