Torey Lanez Text to Megan After Shooting: “I Just Got Too Drunk”

Written by on September 10, 2020

After weeks of radio silence, Torey Lanez has finally broke his silence following the incident with Megan Thee Stallion.
Instead of addressing the shooting head-on, he is pushing back on reports that his streams are down 40%, due to fans boycotting his music. However, TMZ did obtain the text message that he sent to Megan the day after the Hollywood Hills party on July 12th.

On August 31, Forbes released an article stating the following:

“Tory’s audio streams were consistently in the 20 million to 30 million range since mid-June, according to Nielsen Music/MRC Data,” reported the outlet. “However, during the week of August 21, following Megan’s revealing August 20 livestream, Tory’s streams plummeted by nearly 9 million—a 40% drop from the previous week’s 22 million streams.”

Tory reached out to All New Hip Hop on Twitter
“Lmao that’s such a lie. 40% where?!! I have twenty-seven million monthly listeners on Spotify currently.”

It turns out the original numbers reported were not accurate and Tory’s streams only fell about 8%.

Ok so the #CancelToryLanez trend has not impacted his streams too much. But let’s see what happens now that his explanation for violence is public.

TMZ reported that Tory Lanez open fire on Megan Thee Stallion because he was “Just too drunk”.

He wrote, “I know u prolly never gone talk to me again, but I genuinely want u to know I’m sorry from the bottom of my heart. I was just too drunk. None the less s**t should have never happened and I can’t change what did. I just feel horrible.”

And, he repeats … “Cuz I genuinely just got too drunk.”

My advice to Tory Lanez; If you can’t control your trigger finger, you need to leave the alcohol alone!
