A 4-year-old boy was rushed to Primary Children’s Hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah after part of his arm was bitten off by a Husky on Sunday afternoon. The child was playing in his yard when he stuck his arm through a chain link fence that separated him and the two Huskies in the neighboring yard.
According to Layton Fire Department and EMS, the toddler was reaching out to play with the dogs when one of the Huskies bit his mid-forearm and ripped off the lower part of the arm along with the child’s hand.
Layton, Utah Animal Control crews were able to find the dog responsible but are still in search of the missing arm and hand. Crews believe the dog may have eaten the child’s arm. The future of the dog will be determined after a thorough investigation of the incident. The dog is said to have no prior history of violence or aggression.
The child, who’s name has not yet been released, is in stable condition and is undergoing surgery at this time.
