The third annual “Diamonds in the Rough Fashion Show,” hosted by Miss Julie’s School of Beauty in Rochester, N.Y., took place on Saturday to benefit victims of human trafficking. Founded by Julie Chapus, known as Miss Julie, the school is a non-profit, therapeutic cosmetology institution dedicated to providing vocational training to human trafficking survivors and those at risk.

All proceeds from the fashion show go directly to support the school’s mission. Chapus emphasized the unique nature of her school, stating that it is the first therapeutic cosmetology school for trafficking survivors in the nation. She believes in the importance of seeing individuals beyond their trauma and aiding their reintegration into the community.

In addition to her work with the school, Chapus also runs “Christ for Kids Ministries” and has authored several children’s books aimed at helping young readers navigate everyday challenges.
