Texas Sees Highest Number Of COVID-19 Cases to Date

On Thursday, Texas reported its highest spike in coronavirus cases since it began re opening. The governor has since paused the scheduled phase in response to the more than 6000 new cases that were reported in one day.
The combined numbers in the 30 states that have begun reopening procedures have set a record for highest reported cases in the nation since March and the CDC is now thinking the number could be much higher where testing is less available.
Texas Governor Greg Abbott released a statement, saying:
“At this time, it is clear that the rise in cases is largely driven by certain types of activities, including Texans congregating in bars.”
The scaled back solution allows restaurants to stay open and keep capacity to 50% for dining in and bars can only be open for take out.
Recreational activities like rafting and tubing are no longer permitted and any outdoor gathering that has more than 100 people must be approved by local government officials.
