Lawrence County, TN schools will no longer excuse absences with a doctor’s note. All absences are treated the same unless special arrangements are made.
After eight unplanned absences, students may be referred to juvenile court and lose privileges like prom or graduation.
Exceptions include verified chronic illness, emergencies, and certain religious or family events.
