Teen Accused of Using Fake Gun in Two Robberies in Rochester

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — A 17-year-old male is facing multiple charges after allegedly committing two robberies Monday night using a replica firearm, according to the Rochester Police Department (RPD).
The first incident occurred on Lexington Avenue, where the victim reported that a red vehicle approached and the driver pointed what appeared to be a gun, demanding personal belongings. After the victim complied, the suspect fled in the car.
Police responded quickly, locating a red Mazda 6 at the intersection of Glenwood Avenue and Finch Street. The teen driver was cooperative, exiting the vehicle with hands raised. Officers found a replica revolver in the side door pocket.
Investigators then connected the teen to a second attempted robbery on Malling Drive. In that case, a red sedan driver attempted to rob a pedestrian at gunpoint under similar circumstances.
The teenager now faces several charges:
- Second-degree robbery
- Second-degree attempted robbery
- Second-degree criminal use of a firearm
- Petit larceny
No injuries were reported in either incident. The teen’s identity has not been released due to his age.
