A Penfield High School student was found with an airsoft gun on Monday, according to Monroe County Sheriff’s deputies. Authorities said the student was cooperative and made no threats.
The student has been charged with unlawful possession of weapons by a person under 16.
The investigation remains active, and deputies are working with Penfield school administrators.
The incident follows a recent school board meeting where parents voiced concerns about safety and communication after a prior threat against an elementary school in September.
