Stevie Wonder Seeks to Remove Longtime Resident From Hollywood Hills Home

Stevie Wonder is fighting to evict Carmen Efferson, a woman who has reportedly lived rent-free in his Hollywood Hills home since 1988. 

Efferson is pushing back, claiming the property has serious maintenance issues, including mold, leaks, damaged floors, and plumbing problems. 

She also disputes Wonder’s ownership of the home and says she provided services or other compensation in exchange for living there. 

Efferson is asking the court to require repairs and reduce her rent. 

Wonder says their rent-free agreement was revoked after she refused multiple requests to allow property inspections. 

He is seeking her eviction and $600 in damages related to an insurance renewal issue.
