Stevie Wonder Leaves Motown After 59 Years And Releases New Music

Written by on October 14, 2020

Stevie Wonder has just announced that he will be leaving Motown to form his own record label and release some new music.

He’s been on Motown since he was 11 years old in 1961 and now he’s starting So What the Fuss Music, the name of which is inspired by his 2005 collaboration with Prince.

His two new songs, “Where Is Our Love Song” and “Can’t Put It in the Hands of Fate” will be distributed by Republic Records, the same distributor as Taylor Swift, Ariana Grande and Post Malone.

Wonder commented on his departure from the record label, saying:

“Even if I’ve left Motown, I never leave Motown. That’s Detroit.”
