Spiritus Christi Gospel Choir & Zion Hill Mass Choir Host Evening of Celebratory Music

Written by on November 19, 2019

The Spiritus Christi Gospel Choir, led by Paul Boutte and directed by Alvin Simpson, will join the Zion Hill Mass Choir along with special guests Bill Tiberio and Bill Welch, to host an evening of celebratory music on Saturday, November 23, 7 pm, in the Spiritus Christi Sanctuary at 121 N. Fitzhugh Street.

Showcased that evening will be music from Spiritus’ upcoming gospel CD, planned for release in 2020, along with several Christmas selections.

“Our choir is really excited about sharing some of the music from our upcoming CD,” said Boutte, adding that it will feature original music composed by Rev. Myra Brown, Jasen Monroe and himself. “Whenever the voices of the Zion Hill and Spiritus Christi choirs come together, as they did in the creation of the CD, you’re in for a real treat.  Together they create a very powerful sound, with a lot of energy and heart,” Simpson said. Boutte, has been leading the Spiritus Christi choir for more than 20 years, and singer/director Simpson joined them more than 10 years ago.

Admission is free, with donations encouraged and welcome. All proceeds will benefit the completion of the Spiritus Christi Gospel CD. For more information about the event, please call Spiritus Christi Gospel Choir Liaison Terri Pease at (585) 747-2920.
