Speaking Black Facts: Happy Birthday To My Forever President
Written by Andre on August 4, 2020
Today we celebrate our Forever President Barack Obama because it is his birthday!!
Barack Hussien Obama II was born August 4, 1961 in Honolulu, Hawaii. He is the first black president of the United States and the 44th President. President Obama served in the Oval Office from 2009-2017 and prior to him becoming president he was the Democratic State Senator in Chicago, Illinois from 1997-2004. After resigning from the Illinois State Senate he ran for the U.S. Senate and won becoming the only black member of the Congressional Black Caucus.
Obama resigned from his Senate seat in 2008 to run for U.S. President and the rest is history!
President Obama also won the Noble Peace Prize in 2009 for his “extraordinary efforts to strengthen international diplomacy and cooperation between people.” We can’t wait to see what our Forever President does next, I’m sure he will continue to make history.
Happy Birthday President Barack Obama!!
