Solange Knowles 1st Black Woman To Compose Score For New York City Ballet

Solange Knowles is the first Black woman and the second woman ever to compose a score for a New York City Ballet production. Knowles singer has been tapped to compose an original score for an upcoming ballet production at the New York City Ballet. A chamber ensemble will perform the composition, the New York Times reports.
