Shop Black Week (SBW): November 22- 29, 2019!!

Shop Black Week (SBW) is a national initiative to support black owned businesses across America. During the week of November 22 through November 29, 2019, consumers are encouraged to purchase goods, products, or services from at least one African- American vendor or retailer.

Shop Black Week has garnered millions of followers on social media in support of the initiative. According to Shop Black Week’s Media Strategist Carla Tillman, Ph.D., “What we believe is that if every American made a purchase, no matter how small or big, most black-owned businesses wouldn’t be able to handle the increase, providing evidence that by supporting black-owned businesses on a regular basis, we could permanently and systematically change the economic condition of the black community forever.”

This movement is on its way to making history, and with Shop Black Week ending on Black Friday it gives the day a whole new meaning! If you participate in SBW (and you should) organizers of the initiative are asking that you share your purchase on social media using the hashtags #ShopBlackWeek and #SBW2019 as a show of solidarity for the movement.
