Shark Attack Leaves Woman Without Hands While Trying to Take Selfie at Turks and Caicos Beach

At Thompson Cove Beach in the Turks and Caicos Islands, a woman suffered severe injuries in a shark attack while attempting to take a selfie with the animal.

The 6-foot-long shark attacked her after she tried to engage with it, resulting in the amputation of one hand below the wrist and severe damage to her other arm. Fortunately, her husband was able to scare off the shark, and bystanders quickly gathered to help, using their clothes to stem her bleeding.

Authorities confirmed that the woman was specifically trying to capture a photo with the shark at the time of the incident.
