Senator Chuck Schumer warned that new tariffs set to be announced by President Donald Trump could jeopardize over 30,000 jobs in the Finger Lakes Region of upstate New York.
In a virtual news conference, he stated that the tariffs would lead to job losses and increased prices, estimating that the average family in the area could face annual cost increases of up to $6,500 on essentials like gas and groceries.
Schumer emphasized that small business owners in upstate New York would be particularly hard hit by these changes.
