Say WHAT?! Las Vegas Babysitter Reportedly Left Bloody Message On Wall After Allegedly Stabbing 3-Year-Old Girl To Death

Marketta Phillips, a Las Vegas babysitter, reportedly left a bloody message on an apartment wall after allegedly stabbing Journei Ross, a 3-year-old girl, to death.

More Details On Marketta Phillips Allegedly Stabbing The 3-Year-Old Girl To Death

According to USA Today, on Wednesday, March 26, around 3:30 a.m., police responded to reports of a “stabbing incident” at an apartment residence. Once officers arrived, they reportedly located a juvenile female “suffering from apparent stab wounds.” Per Law & Crime, police later identified the 3-year-old as Journei Ross.

“Officers provided life-saving measures until medical personnel arrived. The juvenile was transported to a local hospital where she was later pronounced deceased,” a press release from the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department asserts.

Marketta Phillips was reportedly “located near the scene, taken into police custody, and booked into the Clark County Detention Center.

“Through the course of [the] investigation, homicide detectives learned Phillips was babysitting the victim while the father was at work. At some point, Phillips stabbed the victim and then fled the area when the father arrived from work,” the press release adds.

More Details On The Las Vegas Babysitter’s Charges & Appearance In Court

According to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, Phillips has since been charged with “Open Murder with a Deadly Weapon.” Per Law & Crime, Journei’s father, Jeremy Ross, and mother, Phalan Whitson, spoke with reporters outside Phillips’ court appearance on Thursday, March 27. Furthermore, Jeremy reportedly explained that Phillips had watched his daughter on “numerous” occasions while he was at work.

Then, on the evening of March 26, when he arrived home, he discovered Phillips with blood on her arms and then phoned police before the woman fled the scene.

“You killed my [expletive] child!” he reportedly said during the 911 call, per the outlet. “My baby is not breathing. My baby just bled all over the goddamn bed. What the f**k did you do?”

Per the outlet, Jeremy told reporters he and Marketta Phillips had been roommates for about a year. Meanwhile, Daily Mail reports that Jeremy and Phillips had been in an off-again-on-again romance. After the incident, she reportedly wrote, “everybody who played me is cursed,” in blood on the wall. Per the outlet, Phillips reportedly later admitted to police she stabbed the child “more than once” to “get back at” Jeremy Ross.

“I didn’t know this woman. Today was literally the first day I’ve ever seen this woman in my life,” Whitson told reporters. “This is crazy, she took my baby.”

Per the 8 News Now, Journei Ross was reportedly stabbed 10 times. Furthermore, Phillips is being held without bail and is expected back in court on Tuesday, April 1.

A Daycare Worker In Kentucky Was Recently Charged For Their Alleged Actions Toward A 1-Year-Old

As The Shade Room previously reported, last month, police in Kentucky received reports of a child being injured at a local daycare. Subsequently, surveillance footage showed a woman pulling a 1-year-old child’s hair. Furthermore, the woman was identified as Kesha Cochran.

Cochran reportedly was accused of leaving a “complete bald spot over 6 centimeters” of the child’s scalp.
