Royce Da 5’9” has stepped in and offered his opinion on Lupe Fiasco’s suggestion that he would like to take Joe Budden’s spot in Slaughterhouse.

Lupe Fiasco recently tweeted that he would like to take over Budden’s currently vacant spot in the Slaughterhouse crew, leaving many hip hop fans divided. Those who were optimistic about another Slaughterhouse project took to social media to praise the idea of Lupe Fiasco getting involved, although many purists were non-plussed about anybody – let alone Lupe – taking Joe Budden’s place.

Royce Da 5’9” was recently asked his opinion on whether Lupe would make a good replacement, and while he praised Lupe Fiasco, he seemed adamant that his addition to Slaughterhouse would “never happen”.

Explaining why nobody could replace Joe, Royce said that if it was him, Joell, Krook and Lupe, it would simply be “a different group”. Royce went on to say that any collaboration would have to “be called something else” but he wasn’t meaning to take anything away from Lupe as a rapper.

“That’s elevating Lupe Fiasco to where he should be” continued Royce: “He’s no replacement guy. He’s a master.”

Royce Da 5’9” then went to say that the dynamic of the four original Slaughterhouse members is what makes the group tick and that it would be difficult to ever replace that.
