A 75-year-old woman was rescued after falling 30 feet at Clark Gully in Yates County, highlighting the dangers of popular hiking areas in the Finger Lakes region. Emergency crews from multiple departments carried out an extensive rope rescue, using a 35-foot ladder to extract the woman, who had been stranded overnight. She managed to locate her phone at daybreak and call 911. This marks the sixth rescue in the area over two years. Officials are urging hikers to stay on marked paths and be cautious of loose shale and steep terrain, particularly after recent rainfall. The woman remains in recovery at Strong Memorial Hospital.
