Rochester’s ‘Stop the Violence’ Job Fair

Written by on November 16, 2021

Last night continuing into today, Uniting & Healing through Hope of Monroe County is holding a “Stop the Violence Job Fair.” The fair can be found at the Holiday inn on State Street downtown from 9 am to 5 pm. Community organizers are hopeful for this event to provide a path to jobs that can help counter Rochester’s recent surge of violence. At the Stop the Violence Job Fair” community members can learn about employment opportunities, as well as gain access to health care.

One of the organizers of the event is Alfonso Galvano, a pastor at Hope Christian Fellowship. He commented on the event, saying: “When people have an option, and that is what we hope to give them is an option they will choose the better option and not be in the street and cause the violence to continue rising but we will get to see it diminishing that is our purpose and our goal.”
