Rochester’s Auditorium Theater Sports New Metal Detectors

If you plan to see a show at Rochester Broadway Theater League’s (RBTL) Auditorium Theater, be prepared for their newest security feature. The theater has done away with metal detector wands and has instituted new walk-through metal detectors, opting for more safety and efficiency.

With the recent increases in mass shootings, more and more venues are stepping up security protocols. Not only do the new metal detectors make customers feel more safe, they also allow for speedier check in times.

Personally, I only bring the absolute essentials with me when going into a venue. You know you’ll be searched, patted down or wanded, so this practice just saves time and energy altogether. Not to mention, it keeps your personal items from getting rummaged through.
