Rochester, Syracuse, And Buffalo Rank Among Poorest Cities In The Nation

The U.S. Census Bureau released new data showing Rochester, Buffalo, and Syracuse are not doing so well when it comes to reducing the poverty rate. Syracuse ranked 29th while Buffalo placed 16th and Rochester came in 15th out of the 589 large cities across the nation, according to the data.
The city that took the top spot which is not a surprise, unfortunately is Flint Michigan with 40.8 percent of its population living in poverty.
Rochester, N.Y. statistics:
Total percent living below poverty – 33.2%
Percent under 18 are living below poverty – 50.5%
Percent over age 60 – 18.2%
Percent of whites below poverty – 26.2%
Percent of blacks below poverty – 40.3%
Percent of latino below poverty – 41.4%
