Rochester Postal Worker Shot While on Delivery Route

A Rochester postal worker was shot while delivering mail Saturday near Canal Street and West Main Street.

The 58-year-old suffered a non-life-threatening gunshot wound and was treated at Strong Memorial Hospital.
Police have not made any arrests and continue to investigate.
The president of Rochester’s National Association of Letter Carriers said the shooting highlights the dangers mail carriers face and renewed calls for legislation that would increase penalties for attacks on postal workers.
