Rochester Officials Approve One School Sale, Table Another

The Rochester City Council voted Tuesday to sell the former School No. 20 property on Oakman Street to Young Women’s College Prep.
The vacant school had previously been considered for housing redevelopment, though school leaders opposed the idea. Young Women’s College Prep currently operates out of a shared educational space in Greece.
Councilmembers also delayed a vote on the proposed sale of School No. 29, which Rochester Academy of Science is interested in purchasing.
