Quad A for Kids offers after school programs for inner city youth at one of their four RCSD locations, Clara Barton School No. 2, George Mather Forbes School No. 4, John Walton Spencer School No. 16, and Dr. Louis A. Cerulli School No. 34. Founded in 1994 by Joe U Posner, the goal of these programs is to combine Athletics, Arts and Academic Achievement (the four A’s) to keep kids “off the streets and on to life”.
This after-school program serves about 400 students and their families in the Rochester community. Some of the program activities include gymnastics, STEM workshops, dance classes, zumba, cooking & nutrition, computer basics, music, arts & crafts, american sign language, choir, money management, fire safety and so much more!
At this time, Quad A for Kids is proud to welcome their new Executive Director, Isaac Bliss, a longtime youth worker and Rochester native. For the last 14 years, Bliss has been hands on within many youth-serving organizations in the community and has dedicated his entire career to helping Rochester youth and adults succeed. His resume includes Children’s Institute, Community Place and, most recently, the City of Rochester’s Department of Recreation and Youth Services.
Bliss even teaches the next generation of youth workers as an adjunct professor and service-learning community mentor at Nazareth College’s Community Youth Development program. Congratulations Isaac Bliss, wish you much success in your new role!! ??
