Rochester Launches $4.2M Program to Provide Affordable High-Speed Internet

Monroe County and Community Broadband Networks are launching a program to bring affordable high-speed internet to over 26,000 low-income residents and small businesses in Rochester.
Funded by $4.2 million from the American Rescue Plan, the program targets ZIP codes 14604, 14605, 14608, 14611, 14613, 14614, and 14621.
Eligible residents—those enrolled in programs like SNAP, WIC, Section 8, Pell Grants, or SSI—will get:

  • 100 Mbps internet

  • 2 free months of service

  • Wi-Fi router & installation

  • $30/month for 5 years after the free period
