Chuck Mangione, renowned Rochester jazz musician and Grammy-winning flugelhorn and trumpet player, died in his sleep at age 84 on Tuesday. Best known for his hit “Feels So Good,” Mangione earned 14 Grammy nominations and gained international acclaim with his 1980 Winter Olympics performance. A graduate of Eastman School of Music, he also taught there and received an honorary doctorate. His career began with his brother in the Jazz Brothers group. Mangione was inducted into the Rochester Music Hall of Fame.
