Rochester Entertainment Venues Hope The New Excelsior Pass Helps Them Open Up Sooner

Written by on March 27, 2021

New York State is developing a new piece of technology called an “Excelsior Pass” that will allow users to verify if they’ve been vaccinated or tested.

The app based program displays a QR code that can be scanned to provide the information to entertainment venues and outdoor events in Rochester.

Erica Fee, a festival producer with the Key Bank Rochester Fringe Festival think’s its a good idea:

“It shows people that they’re going to be in a safe environment, so it helps them physiologically. Number two they’re actually going to be in a safe environment. Also, it’s great business sense in terms of the state because we would never be able to afford to roll out our own apps for instance.”
