A crash in Rochester that severely damaged four parked cars is turning into an insurance challenge for those involved.
Rochester police reported that two unidentified individuals in their 20s were at the scene.
The driver of a rental vehicle lost control and drove into a parking lot off West Main Street. Since the parked cars were unoccupied, the incident is categorized as property damage.
AAA insurance manager Alex Tetzlaff noted that New York’s minimum liability limit of $10,000 would be split among the four vehicles, giving each owner $2,500.
However, this distribution may not satisfy all parties, as some might seek more compensation, potentially leading to civil court.
The driver and his female passenger were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
