Rick Ross Makes THESE Changes To Annual Car Show After Lawsuit From Disabled Fan

Rick Ross is taking steps to comply with making his viral car and bike show accessible to all! The rapper implemented the changes after a fan with disabilities sued him after being denied entry and a refund for last summer’s edition.  Darris Straughter requested his money back after a wheelchair-accessible shuttle bus failed to arrive on the day of the event. The lack of transportation consequently left him unable to attend Rozay’s third annual show.

What Initially Led To The Lawsuit Filing Against Rick Ross

Despite Straughter’s efforts to secure a refund, organizers reportedly dismissed his request. According to a previous report by TMZ, the event promised to provide a shuttle bus. The vehicle aimed to arrive at a designated parking lot area and transport any disabled guests to the 235-acre estate, or “The Promise Land,” as Ross calls it. Well, Straughter asserts that the event fell short after he took a lengthy trip to get there. His lawsuit, filed in April 2024, accused the ‘Aston Martin Music’ rapper of violating the American Disabilities Act. He claimed he sat for hours, waiting for transportation that never arrived. His lawsuit also claimed Straughter also sold his personal car to attend the show, which allowed him to cover additional expenses such as his traveling arrangements.

Ross Plans To Make Some Much-Needed Changes

Ross has reportedly chosen not to contest Straughter’s claims. Instead, he’s embracing the opportunity to fix the problem, not just for the disappointed ticket holder who filed the suit but for several other disabled people who complained about similar experiences. Per TMZ, the rapper responded by agreeing to provide an active shuttle bus service that’ll pick up wheelchair-bound guests and take them to a designated area at the event.

Straughter’s attorney, John Hoover, released a statement sharing updates on the lawsuit triumph against Ross. Hoover revealed that the event will also offer golf carts to ensure the seamless mobility of wheelchair users throughout the estate,

“Thanks to Darris Straughter and the other wheelchair users who came forward, the upcoming Rick Ross Car & Bike Show will be so wheelchair accessible that even golf carts will be provided to wheelchair users,” Hoover wrote. “This is a milestone in the ongoing litigation. Defendants continue to deny wrongdoing, but if it wasn’t broken, they wouldn’t have to fix it.”
