Dr. Anthony Fauci has finally resurfaced after well… we don’t really know we can only assume but he has been pretty low key for a while. Dr. Fauci is the leading infectious disease expert so hearing from after these last few weeks is oddly comforting.
He was recently a part of the Aspen Ideas Festival held in Aspen, Colorado. First, the Aspen Ideas Festival is pretty interesting if you get a chance check it out the link will be below. I’m nerding out for the moment so stick with me!
It’s like TedX but imagine more people on stage. Leaders from across the globe have deep discussions about ideas and issues that affect our daily lives.
Anyways, Dr. Anthony Fauci and Elizabeth Cohen discuss the current state of the COVID-19 pandemic and the increase in cases in the U.S. as we reopen. There are a lot of interesting things Dr. Fauci says in this discussion one of them specifically how the U.S. government responded to the virus in the beginning.
He also breaks down community spread of the virus and how difficult it is to trace and contain. The subject of vaccination is brought up and Dr. Fauci gives his prediction of when there will be one, the challenges of getting people to take it, and how effective it will or won’t be.
Tuesday, June 30th Bill Gates will be speaking and the topics will be world health, children’s mental health, and the role America plays in the world.
Wednesday, July 1st Keshia Lance Bottoms and Angela Rye will be a part of the discussion on how Winston Churchill got people o unite.
