Rep. Morelle Passes ​​ Legislation to Lower New York’s Insulin Cost

New York State Congressman Joe Morelle hosted a press conference to announce the passing of a bill that will “dramatically” lower the cost of insulin. According to the bill, it will decrease the maximum costs for a 30-day supply and require private health plans to cover the costs of at least one type of insulin for all patients.

Congressman Morelle stated: “I’ve talked with too many patients in my community that have had to ration their dose or stop taking this life-saving medication altogether, and that’s unacceptable.” Morelle is calling for immediate action from the senate in the passing of the bill.
